French Lawyers: advantages to working for Louis Koerner

  • You will be given real responsibility for important and interesting cases.
  • You are invited to go wherever the case takes us in Louisiana, including to trials, depositions, on helicopters, crew boats, offshore, and more.
  • You will be taught to plead in English by someone who is encouraging and who will make sure that everything that goes out in your name is perfectly grammatical.
  • You will have the most modern electronic equipment, computers, copiers, networks, and so forth.
  • You will be treated as an honored team member and will work with other lawyers and clients.
  • Louis will take time with you to make certain that you are learning how to practice law in Louisiana and in the federal courts so that you will feel comfortable and will feel that you are advancing professionally.
  • When you are finished with your internship, we are not finished with you.  We have developed a network in France of former interns that we all value.  Louis will do everything that he can to make sure that you get a good job, will talk to any prospective employer, will recommend you to his confrere in Paris and elsewhere, and will do everything that he can to make certain that the good job that you have done here will be rewarded professionally in France.
  • Some of you, like Celine Moguen, who worked here in  2001, will develop a continuing relationship whereby you can work from abroad on cases in Louisiana, all the while earning extra money and keeping your skills sharp.
  • We have a main office in Houma and an office in New Orleans. We also provide transportation and help with places to stay in the city where you are not living.
  • You are encouraged to develop relationships with Americans through networking as well as coming to seminars and hearings.
